History
Amelia Interior Design, Inc. a Delaware Corporation
was formed in 1997 to acquire Medina, Ohio based NorthCoast Renovations,
Inc. a company founded by Rita A. Scholz, ASID Professional in 1979.
North Coast Renovations, Inc. has a history of providing unique
interior design solutions for clients both large and small. North
Coast Renovations has successfully provided services for; Marriott,
Sheraton, and Hilton in the hospitality industry, The Glidden Company,
ICI, and Kirby Company in the corporate environment, schools, churches,
and hundreds of private residences.
Rita A Scholz, ASID Professional, serves as
President of Amelia Interior Design, Inc., Amelia Island’s
first State of Florida licensed Interior Design firm. She
earned her bachelors degree from The Ohio State University, majoring
in textiles and design, with a minor in merchandizing. Her
career has taken diverse paths, each contributing to her unique
ability to translate a client’s personality into a custom
interior design.
Rita has developed her skill in merchandizing
at Rich’s in Atlanta and Federated in Columbus, gained valuable
knowledge and insight as a licensed Realtor, and has the interior
design fabrication experience to create many unique designs.
Nationally accredited by The National Council of Interior Design
Qualifications (NCIDQ), Rita is devoted to promoting the profession
of Interior Design and is active in local and national chapters
of American Society of Interior Designers, is Secretary of Florida
Interior Design Association Foundation, and a member of The National
Trust for Historic Preservation, and World Window Covering Association
(WWCA).
In April 1999, we opened our studio at 503C
Centre Street in historic downtown Fernandina Beach. The studio
features a retail accessory showroom, and houses our private design
library and corporate offices. Our professional staff has
grown to nine talented, dedicated individuals experienced in all
aspects of interior design project management and support.
In December 2000, we opened Amelia Interiors' The Master Suite at
4800 First Coast Highway on Amelia Island. The Master Suite
features fine bed, bath, and body care products from around the
world.

Design, Inc., industry partners are critical to the success of all
design projects. Amelia Interior Design has a reputation for
quality and fairness with greater than 1100 industry partners, offering
hundreds of thousands of unique components to create unique interior
designs. Technology plays a critical role for Amelia interior
Design to access goods and services not physically possible to purchase
in any retail environment. We utilize Design On-Line to access suppliers
world wide, research fabric and wall covering via CD searches based
upon pantone color, pattern, and style, inventory art work via CD
and communicate with suppliers via the internet for immediate updates
on new products.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Amelia Interior Design recognizes that
interior design projects, in planning and progress, have the potential
to become time consuming and a logistical challenge for clients.
Our professional staff is experienced in managing the entire process
from planning to completion, with the industry knowledge to meet
